How to fix links in the email that do not open

This article will guide you on how to fix link in the email

When accessing the links sent from GenieAi, you will be redirected to email.mg.yourdomain.com.

This subdomain is set up specifically for Mailgun and is necessary for tracking statistics in the email.

To enable tracking of open and click statistics, you added a Cname record when setting up your domain with the domain provider. This record allows Mailgun to collect data and display email statistics.

The Cname record for email.mg.yourdomain.com should be pointing to Mailgun.org. This configuration enables Mailgun to fetch the necessary data for tracking purposes.

If you encounter an error stating "This site can't be reached" or if email.mg.yourdomain.com refuses to connect, please ensure that you have correctly set up your own Mailgun domain or subdomain.

It appears that the CNAME record may not be correctly configured.

1. To verify this, please copy the subdomain highlighted in red in the image above. In this case, it is email.mg.yourdomain.com.

Depending on the subdomain you have set up with Mailgun, you will need to look up the corresponding CNAME record:

For example:

If you have set up mg.companyname.com as your subdomain, you should look up the CNAME record for email.mg.companyname.com.

If you have set up replies.companyname.com as your subdomain, you should look up the CNAME record for email.replies.companyname.com.

If you have set up support.companyname.com as your subdomain, you should look up the CNAME record for email.support.companyname.com.

Please ensure that the CNAME record is properly set up for your specific subdomain.

2. Go to MX toolbox or Whatsmydns to look up the Cname record:

MX toolbox

Whatsmydns

3. If it says DNS records not found:

    a. login to your domain provider

    b. Go to DNS records and check the CNAME record

4. If it is already pointing to mailgun.org:

    a. Go to Mailgun -> Click the Sending tab on the left -> Domain Settings

    b. Edit the Tracking Protocol

    c. Send the email test again from GenieAI

5. If the information above is not helpful, please contact the support team of your domain provider for further assistance. You can share with them that we need to add the following records:

6. If the domain provider verified all DNS records are good to go

Common issues:

1. If The CNAME record includes the root domain, it will not work here:

If you are using GoDaddy or Namecheap, be sure to omit the root domain from the record so it is email.mg only

Host name:

Depending on the subdomain you are trying to set up, if you are trying to set up

mg.companyname.com The host name will be email.mg

replies.companyname.com The host name will be email.replies

support.companyname.com The host name will be email.support
